To ensure that NIH facilities are designed, built, lit, heated, cooled, maintained, renovated, and demolished with the least amount of impact to human health and the environment, the Sustainable Facilities Working Group will be examining its procedures for each of these activities to identify ways to "green" those activities. This will include developing guidance, tools, best management practices and identifying new opportunities for greening facilities activities at NIH. This working group will be forming soon as an outcome of two previous focus groups that have been addressing several different aspects of facilities activities.
