Waste Aspect

Radiological Waste

Radiation NEMS ProgramRadioactive waste is any waste that contains or is contaminated with radioactive material. Radioactive waste is generated at the NIH Bethesda campus through experiments and treatment protocols. The Radioactive Waste Program provides waste containers and labels for disposal. The program also facilitates radioactive waste collection services throughout the campus. Radioactive wastes are generally sent off-site for treatment and disposal.
